인물소개

현재 미국 버지니아에서(Virginia Union University) 성서해석학과 신약학 분야를 가르치는 교수로 재직하고 있다. 경북대학교 무역학과, 맥코믹 신학대학원(McCormick Theological Seminary)을 거쳐, 밴더빌트 대학(Vanderbilt University)에서 신약학 박사학위(Ph.D.)를 받았다. 미국 성서학회 (SBL)에서 분과위원으로 활동 중이며, 2011년에는 릴리 재단으로부터 Lilly Theological Scholars Grant를 받아 요한복음의 로고스 신학에 대한 재조명을 하였다. 또한 Journal of Bible and Human Transformation(JBHT)의 책임 편집자(에디터)로 활동하며 인간 변혁에 관심을 가지고 있다. 그의 영문 단행본 저술로서는 Christ's Body in Corinth: The Politics of a Metaphor (2008), A Theological Introduction to Paul's Letters: Exploring a Threefold Theology of Paul (2011), Biblical Interpretation: Theory, Process, and Criteria (Pickwick, 2013), A Transformative Reading of the Bible: Explorations of Holistic Human Transformation (Cascade, 2013), Truth, Testimony, and Transformation: A New Reading of the “I am” Sayings in the Fourth Gospel (Cascade, 2013)이 있으며 성서해석학 이론과 인간변혁을 주제로 하는 단행본들이 연이어 출판될 예정이다. 그 외에도 1 and 2 Corinthians (Fortress, 2013)와 Reading Minjung Theology in the Twenty-first Century (Pickwick, 2013)를 에디팅 하였다.
