인물소개

1960년생. 서울대 정치외교학부 교수 겸 동 대학 중국연구소 소장, 서울대 국어교육과 학사, Brown University 역사학 석사, University of Michigan 정치학 박사(1993년), 홍콩과기대학(HKUST) 조교수 및 Brookings Institution의 CNAPS Fellow 역임, 'Central Control and Local Discretion in China'(oxford University Press, 2000)과 'Between Ally and Partner: Korea-China Relations and the United States'(Columbia University Press, 2007)을 포함해 11권의 저서 및 편서가 있으며 China Quarterly, Pacific Affairs, East Asia, Politics 등의 편집위원으로 활동 중, 2009년 서울대 학술연구상 수상
