인물소개

1943년 체코 플제니에서 태어났다. 프라하 카롤리눔 대학교 자연과학부 협동과정을 거쳐 미국 펜씰베이니아 주립대학교 지구자원대학에서 박사학위를 받았다. 현재 캐나다 매니토바 대학교 환경학부 특훈교수와 캐나다 왕립 과학아카데미 특별회원으로 있다. 주요 저서로 China's Energy, Energy in the Developing World, Biomass Energies, The Bad Earth, Carbon-Nitrogen-Sulfur, General Energetics, Global Ecology, Energy in World History, The Earth's Bioshpere, Energy at the Crossroads, Global Catastrophes and Trends 등이 있다.
