인물소개

영국 옥스퍼드 대학교 너필드 칼리지 연구 교수 겸 미국정부학 석좌 교수(Andrew W. Mellon Professor of American Government)다. 주요 연구 주제는 미국 국가와 인종 불평등 문제다. 주요 저서는 《미국인의 형성(Making Americans: Immigration, Race and the Origins of the Diverse Democracy)》(2000), 《분리와 불평등(Separate and Unequal: African Americans and the US Federal Government)》(2007), 《지속 불가능한 미국 국가(The Unsustainable American State)》(2009, 공저), 《여전히 분열된 집(Still a House Divided: Race and Politics in Obama’s America)》 (2011, 공저), 《연준 권력(Fed Power: How Finance Wins)》(2016, 공저) 등이 있다. 유럽 학술원, 미국 예술과학아카데미, 영국 학술원, 미국 사회보장학회 회원으로 선출됐다.
