인물소개

오하이오주립대학교 정치학 박사이며, 현재 부산대학교 정치외교학과 교수로 재직 중이다. 주요 논문으로는 “The Roots of South Korea’s Political Crisis” (2025), “Why South Korea Should Go Nuclear” (2024), “Emerging Competition with China: Persistent and Probably Unavoidable” (2023), “Another ROK-North Korea Summit Won’t Make a Difference” (2021), “Trump’s North Korean Nuclear Theatrics” (2018), “An Agenda for South Korea’s New Leader” (2017), “Using Analytical Eclecticism for Improved Policy Relevance: Is There a Case for South Korean Support of Abenomics?” (2016), “The ‘Pivot’ and Its Problems: American Foreign Policy in Northeast Asia” (2014), “A ‘Confucian Long Peace’ in pre-Western East Asia?” (2011), “American Dual Containment in Asia” (2010), “Security Theory in the New Regionalism” (2007) 등이 있다. 연구 분야는 국제안보, 국제정치경제, 동아시아 안보, 미국 외교정책, 핵문제이다.
